A documentary film about Samarkand and Bukhara, filmed by the crew of the leading French television company Elephant Doc at the end of summer in Uzbekistan, scored a record high number of TV viewers during the broadcast on the TV channel.
The first series of the film “Samarkand - the Uzbek pearl of Amin Maaluf”, shown in the TV program “Invitation to Travel”, tells about the history and art of the Great Silk, as well as about the heritage of the Temuri period.
According to the script of the film, journalist and cameraman G.Janen travels around Samarkand and tells about him, talking with historians, archeologists and residents of the city.
Due to the increased interest in the story, which is more than 500 thousand views per show, the film will be broadcast on the ARTE online platform until January 12, 2019, the Representative Office of Uzbekistan in France reports.
