As for the present day, Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with more than 120 countries worldwide. 42 foreign embassies, one consulate general, nine honorary consuls, ten representative offices of the international organizations, five international financial institutions, three sales offices with diplomatic status are operating in Tashkent. In its turn, there are 46 diplomatic and consular missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries and international organizations, including the permanent missions to the UN in New York, the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva. Republic of Uzbekistan is a member of more than 100 international organizations. Among them there are such authoritative structures as the UN, SCO, CIS and others. Close cooperation with the European Union and NATO is developing. Establishment of the comprehensive relations with various countries on the principles of equal partnership and mutual respect allows Uzbekistan to successfully integrate into the system of inter-state relations and carry out active international political, economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
