SULTAN UVAYS FUNERAL AND MOMENTUM COMPLEX
Funeral and memorial complex is located in the Beruni district of Karakalpakstan. According to local legends, one of the companions of the Prophet Uvays Karani is buried here. The construction of the complex was erected at different times (XVI-XX centuries). Of epigraphic monuments, only a small part remained. In 2000 - 2005, the complex carried out extensive restoration work.
The Sultan Uvays complex is the most popular place of pilgrimage among the population of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm.
SHRINE OF SHAIKH MUHAMMAD NARINDJANI
The mausoleum and complex with a mosque are located in the Ellikkalinsky district of the Karakalpak Autonomous Republic. The original tomb was erected not later than the end of the XIV century. Approximately in the XIX century, the funerary structure was restored in the form of a small dome building made of raw brick.
There were nothing found in other written sources about the buried here Muhammad Narindjani. Judging by the epitaph, he was a Sufi (mystic) and had his disciples. Archaeological and architectural studies and restoration of the monument were carried out in 1982-1985 and in 2003-2005.
