The first International Investment Forum in the sphere of tourism will be held in Uzbekistan from November 19 to 21, 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
The venue for the forthcoming discussions will be the conference hall of the Uzexpocentre. It is expected that representatives of international financial institutions, potential foreign investors, international tourist organizations, leading tourism companies, experts and specialists of the sphere will take part in the forum along with domestic entrepreneurs.
Participants of the forum will be acquainted with investment projects in the tourism sector, including providing full information about the free tourist zone Charvak, tourist areas Samarkand city and Kadimiy Bukhoro, as well as small tourist zones in the Surkhandarya region.
Recall that the number of foreign tourists who visited Uzbekistan in the first half of 2018, almost doubled compared to the same period in 2017.
In total in the first 6 months of this year, Uzbekistan was visited by 2,688,962 foreign tourists.
The number of travelers from countries for which Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free regime has significantly increased. For example, 31 966 tourists came from Turkey for the first 6 months, which is 95.6% more than in 2017. The number of travelers from Japan (by 68.1%), Israel (by 86.2%), Indonesia (more than three times), Singapore (more than 2.5 times) also increased significantly.
